Focus: Crowd Response, Kingdom Misunderstanding, and True Worship

The crowds lay down cloaks and branches—a sign of royal welcome (cf. 2 Kings 9:13). They shout “Hosanna!” (meaning “save now!”), quoting Psalm 118—a messianic psalm sung during Passover.
But their expectations were political, not spiritual. By Friday, many in the crowd would be yelling something very different.
